Upgrading your wallet to the newest version shouldn't take more than a few minutes. If you are running a masternode, you won't lose your place in the payment queue unless the masternode is down for more than an hour or two.
Windows / Local Wallet
- Make sure your wallet is shut down.
- Download the new crave-qt.exe from the Crave website
- Simply replace your current crave-qt.exe with the one you just downloaded.
- Start up the wallet and verify the correct version in Tools > Information
VPS Masternode / Linux
Listed below are two different ways of upgrading your VPS or Ubuntu wallet.
The following will go over a general example of upgrading to v220.127.116.11 with a 64-bit OS Ubuntu 16.04 VPS.
Method 1 - Completely Through Putty
Login (may as well do a system update/upgrade while you are here!)
Change directories to your src folder, such as :
Download the wallet .tar.gz :
Extract files :
tar zxvf crave-v18.104.22.168-linux64.tar.gz
Stop current masternode :
Move new craved file to the src folder :
mv bin/craved src
Move new crave-cli file to the src folder :
mv bin/crave-cli src
Start the wallet :
Verify new wallet version :
Method 2 - Partially Through WinSCP
Download the appropriate .tar.gz file from the Crave website
Extract the files
Login to Putty and go to the src folder to stop your masternode with :
Login to WinSCP and navigate to the src folder
Replace the current craved and crave-cli files with those you just downloaded
Go back into Putty to start the wallet with :
Verify the correct wallet version with :
